Hello, sunshine

I found the sun.

Miscellaneous

Things I've done lately:

1) Took some stones out of a dog's bladder.

2) Went snowshoeing.

3) Survived the snowpocalypse in Seattle.

a. It should be noted that we only received 5-6 inches of snow; however, Seattle is largely unprepared for snow of any measurable amount.

4) Bought Posey some snow boots because she, too, is largely unprepared for snow of any measurable amount.

5) Returned snow boots.

Belated Christmas Post

You guys. I had an amazing Christmas. More than ever, I realize how important my family and friends are to me. It's unfortunate that this coincides with my journey across the country; perhaps life will lead me closer to home again one day. Until then, I will sit on my couch and eat ice cream and watch videos I took of them and cry. Just kidding! Sort of. Not really.

I was only home for a few days and there were so many people I didn't get to see, but I'm thankful for the time I got to spend with my family and for the friends I did get to see, however brief.

A few thoughts:

A) Why is my little brother not very little anymore?
B) I promise I have more than one sweater.
C) It was so nice to be in the suburbs after so many months in the city. So many rooms to go in! Stairs! Yards! Fireplaces! How I've missed you!

Why can't it be Christmas every day?

Sidewalk Wisdom

A reminder, a couple of blocks from my apartment.

I posted this picture on Facebook and when viewed as a thumbnail people thought it said "Don't lose your gout." and "Don't lose your goat." which made me love it even more.

Insightful and hilarious. Two birds, one stone, and what not.

Lessons in Flirting

Walking the dogs, about 9 o'clock on a Thursday. Cute boy standing outside his apartment building.

Cute boy: "Hi."

Anna: "Hi."

Cute boy: "That's, ummmm, quite a big dog you have there."

Anna: (laughs) "Yeah, I guess so."

Cute boy: "He's so much bigger than the other one. What's up with that?"

Anna: "I know, right?" (breezily turning to walk away)

.....

Anna: (turning back around after the moment was clearly over) "They were just born like that."

Cute boy: ......

Anna: ...... (turns to walk away, less breezily than before)

It would seem I'm out of practice when it comes to flirting with boys.
